Your e-dealing password needs to be changed every 90 days. You will receive a prompt when it needs changing. While the message displayed states you have "2 more logins" as a grace period, each Certify and Sign counts as a "login".

Certifying and Signing lawyers need to enter their password for each instrument that is being signed, so each of those password entries count as the grace logins. That means during a typical signing session, a message will display that the number of grace logins has been exceeded and you will be locked out. While you might think it is all part of the same session, the system doesn¡¦t!

It is recommended that you change your password on the first prompt to prevent being locked out.

The key points are:

•  Each instrument that is Certified and Signed counts as a login
• The password requires change every 90 days
• You will receive a reminder
• Change it at the first prompt
• There are no reminders to change during a Certify and Sign session
• If you exceed the logins you will be locked out
• The only fix after being locked out is to contact LINZ
