Forgotten your Landonline password?
A common problem is forgotten passwords and pass phrases due to infrequent or delayed use post training. The only remedy for this problem is to re-issue the Digital Certificate. LINZ will normally charge you for a new one as they have to pay for them from the independent 3rd party supplier.
The key points are as follows:
- If you have retained the original install codes and password it may be possible to 're-export' the Digital Certificate
- The reissue is not an instantaneous process and may take 24 hours.
- Accordingly, it is imperative not to leave certifying and signing to the last minute, especially if you are having doubts about your password / pass phrase
- For reissue phone LINZ Support Centre on 0800 ONLINE (0800 665 463)
Refresher on the difference between password and pass phrase.
- A password is needed for initial login to Landonline
- It must contain letters and at least one number
- Every user of Landonline, even if simply searching needs a password
- This needs to be changed every 90 days
- A pass phrase is simply a different type of password that is used for certify and sign of e-instruments
- The pass phrase must contain upper and lower case characters and numbers
- The pass phrase need not be changed for the 12 month life of the Digital Certificate
Consider the option of retaining the same base word and simply changing the number/s if you have trouble remembering.
The best solution is of course regular use!
